Grounding and Psychic Protection

I was lucky enough to be invited to the first 2 weeks of the Psychic Development Course at college as it was felt the information and guidance was relevant for energy workers and would assist in keeping our energies balanced and vibrant as well as clearing down our own spaces at work and home.

We started the evening with a guided meditation to bring through the energy for the evenings work. Its a wonderful way to get us all focused and energised.

We discussed at length what grounding was and how it can affect us if we do not ground ourselves after receiving or giving treatments. I know for sure that I wouldn't attempt to drive my car until I was grounded because I come out after treatments feeling light and fuzzy and not quite with it. To ground yourself is to bring you back in to your body and be aware of your surroundings again. This can be bought on by stamping, heavy tapping on your arms and body and also through Chinese bells and bongs. It is our duty as a therapist to ensure that our client is grounded and ready for their journey home.

Psychic protection is a generic term for what we as energy workers would use it for. Its a means for the therapist to put up an invisible boundary to stop unwanted negative energy from seeping in to our aura whilst working with clients. For instance if your client is on a particular downer, we will not take on those negative energies and hinder our work with others. This does not mean we will not empathise with our clients situations in life, far from it, it will help by not being clouded by the negative energies and give a real sense of balance throughout the treatment and hopefully help focus and re-energise the client.

We did an exercise to see if we could feel the energies that would be surrounding another person. I was surprised that my perception was very strong and I could feel  a difference in heat when I moved in to their space.

The evening was a wonderful experience and insight in to psychic awareness and I can't wait for the 2nd installment.
