Out Of Darkness Cometh Light!

I have always been good at giving advice and I think that you will agree by the end of this blog that I need to start listening to myself and more importantly my gut instinct. She's very rarely wrong when it comes to matters of the mind body and spirit!

During my life I've had a tendency to implode during stressful times. Twice I have folded during education, the last being my musical degree although mitigating circumstances surrounding the type of degree I chose where stacked against me. (For those interested I breezed music college but chose to stay in the area to study a degree in Classical/Popular Music. Classical being my downfall!)

Once put under pressure I tend to hide, bury my head and only come up for air when its too late. It happened at the start of the year when I was trying to complete 2 courses at once. I should have noted the warning signs before Christmas, instead I chose to try and carry on.Well its not too late in this instance because the college have rolling exams and I intend to take them in the coming months once my course work and case studies are completed. My wife said that I had lost my buzz about Reiki, well its as far from the truth as you can put it. The fire is burning brightly its just the academic part of the studies that are turning my world upside down.

Like an alcoholic, I'm back on it with a vengeance, I have a handful of assignments and case studies to complete and then i'm ready for my exams. The most annoying thing is that I am already qualified as a Reiki Master and these exams are to get something a little more recognised within the industry on paper as well as the ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology which will lead me on to other energy studies in the future.

I need to break the cycle of trepidation and failure during my studies because I can't fail, its my destiny to serve and make people feel better about themselves.Sorry for not blogging but I've been stuck in a hole for while. I'm now out of it and raring to go so watch this space. I will be updating my blog on a more regular basis with different observations and stories and also links to my website and other intersting articles.

Oh and I will be completing my studies.... Out of darkness cometh light.

Love and light,

Reiki Chris

Reiki Level 3 Atunement

As I stated in my previous blog I had my Reiki Level 3 atunement in early December and feel obliged to give you an overview of the evening.

I always feel at peace at the college and I know my links will go far and beyond my Reiki journey into other exciting areas of spirituality. To begin the evening my partner in crime Mandave and I where guided through a meditation by Debra Goldston and it really put us in a space of love and calmness amidst all the doom and gloom that is radiated on TV and in the media. For me it takes me back to basics and refocuses my minds eye. I know I keep going on about 'me time' and its benefits and I can't stress how important it is. Digressing slightly, It amazed me when after a morning walk the BBC had looked in to meditation and compiled a before and after MRI scan of a lady who suffered with Lupus. the results and report are here. I do hope and pray that more studies are compiled and peoples eyes are open to alternative therapies and meditation.

All three Reiki atunements have been individual in their own right but in actual fact are very similar in timing and repetitiveness of the atunement. The energy when Debra placed her hands on my shoulders was incredibly strong and this coupled with my energy flow nearly took me off my chair. Bright golden light emitted through my closed eyelids which was glowing with love and tranquillity, this coupled with the feeling that the room was full of spirits and guides really took my breathe away. At one point I saw an Eagle and then in the next breathe what can only be described as a nibbled cream cracker. I do believe that the said cream cracker may have been an old stone tablet though. This did amuse my teacher Debra and friend Mandave because its not really something that is associated with Reiki but was never the less bloody hilarious!! Each atunement was life changing in that a little part of me was opened up spirituality and my thoughts have a clarity that is difficult to describe. If you can imagine drinking 5 cans of red bull on the bounce and the alertness that comes with it, then your close to how I feel for most of the day. This coupled with the daily boost of energy that self administered Reiki gives you indicates the kind levels I'm on about.

Reiki has changed my life and I know over the coming months its going to open up many opportunities for me. My outlook on life has always been that my cup is half full and now I can tell you its over flowing and I'm ready to share my new found optimism and energy with anyone that is willing to give me their time (and money of course because I am trying to run a business!!) As I have said all along I don't proclaim to cure the ill or diseased I am merely a transformer for energy and optimism from a higher source that I am willing to share with as many people as possible.

I know the cynic's out there will belittle what I have written and described but I bet they wouldn't be willing to have a reiki treatment and more than liekly wouldnt admit to any changes during or after their treatment. I've got to admit I can't wait for those challenges that will crop up during my Reiki journey.

My case studies have kindly allowed me to blog about our feelings and observations whilst keeing thier anominity and I'm extremly greatful for the oportunity to not only work with them but also write about them, which I will begin in my next blog..... Have a great week.

2012 - Back to basics and the bigger picture.

Firstly a belated happy new year to all that read this. I hope you had a peaceful and enjoyable Christmas and enjoyed seeing in 2012.

I don't know where to start this blog because I have so much to share with you. So here goes nothing and in no particular order I'll let you in to my head for a minute or two. It does digress away from Reiki but its all for the greater good.

Towards the end of last year I went on a days course at the college which introduced me to Alkaline Health and it interested me to the point of starting 2012 and alkalising. The science behind alkalising is simple. Cut out acidic food/drink as this is the basis of a lot illness. Our bodies are naturally slightly alkaline and the deluge of precooked/processed/convenience food and drink that we consume tilts the balance towards acidity and in the long run illness and fatigue. This is my 3rd week and I have to say this is the best I have felt for many years. I have cut out caffeine, alcohol, dairy, bread and meat and live off mother earth. (fruit and veg if your not sure!!) I am up at 6am doing my 30 minute walk (Remember I blogged about 'me time', well this is 'my time') It sets me up for the day. No hunger, cravings or headaches and above everything else I am full of energy and concentration. Coupled with the beautiful energy flow I receive from Reiki you could go as far as to say I am super charged at the moment!! To top this off I am losing weight which for those that know me has been a long battle to control and defeat.

Another major change I have made is I have changed the type of salt i consume/use in my diet. It has long been said that salt is bad for you, you must not consume salt etc etc well our bodies would not function without a certain amount of salt and due to the scare mongering of health professionals in some cases we are lacking. I do not go over my recommended daily dose but I have changed what type of salt I use. the majority of refined salts have received so much cleansing treatment that there are no vitamins or minerals left just pure salt, which coincidentally does nothing for you. I am now using Himalayan Rock Salt which is mined in the Himalayas and has over 70 trace elements of minerals that our body yearns for. I start the day with what is called Sole. I add a teaspoon of Himalayan rock salt solution to a pint of mineral/spring water in the morning. You will notice that this is a part of  the Alkaline health plan and is recommended across other natural health websites.

Finally and by no means least I want to tell you about my personal harmoniser which a good friend at the college told me about. I purchased it from the centre for implosion research. In a nutshell it helps repel electromagnetic radiation and interference from electrical items such as computers, mobile phones and microwaves. It all sounds far fetched and I wouldn't blame you from laughing your heads off but it DOES work. I sit at my computer all day and inevitably got headaches at the end of the day. These have now gone and its safe to say that when I have forgotten to wear my necklace I do feel the difference.

So all in all quite a lot of change in the first couple of weeks and all the greater good . I feel bloody brilliant and long may it continue. My next blog will focus on my Reiki 3 attunement which was before Christmas and the experiences I have had with my case studies.

It's The Silly Season!

So my promise to keep blogging has proverbially hit the fan! Well I am back after illness, the stresses of being a school governor and above all else a lack of time due to coursework and case studies! This is one of the many reasons that I want to move away from the rigoures of 9 till 5 and be my own boss.

I'm really looking forward to 2012 with many irons in many fires stoking the flames. I do think my Reiki journey is just the start of my work within the alternative therapy sector and I can't wait to share with you my plans for the next 12 -18 months. First, I have to get my original studies completed as this is the platform for bigger and better things.

Since being attuned to Reiki my mindset on the world has really shifted and a clarity is slowly emerging from the mist's of my current position in life. Being stuck at a computer is not what I want or see being my focus, I want to help people, share my positivity and above all else share my knowledge of light work (reiki) and beyond.

I think we all will be in a position of change in 2012 and we have to ready to adapt and move with the times. Be it financially, emotionally or physically we have to be aware of this transitional period and ensure we don't get left behind in the fog.

May I wish you all a merry christmas and a prosperous new year.

Let love be your energy......

Its all in the title really and yes I stole it from a Robbie Williams song with the lyrics 'If your willing to change the world, let love be your energy. I got more than I need, when your love shines down on me'
It kind of fits the Reiki ethos because it goes where it is needed and wanted. I am merely a  transmitter of this energy and pass it on to anyone or anything that requires it.

So where does love come in to it? Well love is the centre of our life force energy (Reiki) and emanates everywhere from humans to animals and the world with live in. I've been through some shit throughout my life as my closest friends will testify, but I have never lost the ability to love or smile, even in the most upsetting of circumstances I've found the positives that have got me through to the other side. There's not a better feeling than making someone you don't know smile or laugh! Give it a try.

Now I am a qualified Reiki Therapist I can let you know what I will be offering along with my pricing structure:

I am a mobile Reiki Therapist and can visit you at your home or you can come and see me at a convenient location be it at my house in Wednesbury or a room at the college in Willenhall (This does not incur any extra charges).

1 hour Reiki treatment - £40 (The first consultation will last around an hour and a half)
1/2 hour Reiki taster session - £25 (1st consultation will be around an hour)

I will discount a block booking of 5 sessions to £150 giving a reduction of £10 per session.

I will also be introducing a recommend a friend deal where I will take £5 off your next session if you recommend me as a Reiki Therapist and they have had a treatment.

The taster session can be either upright in a chair or on a therapy table. The full hour treatment will always be on a therapy table unless specified by the client or a lack of space available. The reason for this is because I need to be able to get to all parts of your body and I am some what constricted if you are sat in a chair. It also allows the client to fully relax and in some cases drift off to sleep.

In both treatments the first session will involve a 'getting to know you' discussion where I take some notes and understand any problems you have or are worried about and need me to concentrate on. This is a one off discussion and should take no more than half an hour.
I hope things are a little clearer and your as excited as me! Have a great weekend, its going to be a hot one. Yes, we are hitting October the 1st and its touching tropical daytime temperatures! Enjoy it because it will be snowing soon.

Grounding and Psychic Protection

I was lucky enough to be invited to the first 2 weeks of the Psychic Development Course at college as it was felt the information and guidance was relevant for energy workers and would assist in keeping our energies balanced and vibrant as well as clearing down our own spaces at work and home.

We started the evening with a guided meditation to bring through the energy for the evenings work. Its a wonderful way to get us all focused and energised.

We discussed at length what grounding was and how it can affect us if we do not ground ourselves after receiving or giving treatments. I know for sure that I wouldn't attempt to drive my car until I was grounded because I come out after treatments feeling light and fuzzy and not quite with it. To ground yourself is to bring you back in to your body and be aware of your surroundings again. This can be bought on by stamping, heavy tapping on your arms and body and also through Chinese bells and bongs. It is our duty as a therapist to ensure that our client is grounded and ready for their journey home.

Psychic protection is a generic term for what we as energy workers would use it for. Its a means for the therapist to put up an invisible boundary to stop unwanted negative energy from seeping in to our aura whilst working with clients. For instance if your client is on a particular downer, we will not take on those negative energies and hinder our work with others. This does not mean we will not empathise with our clients situations in life, far from it, it will help by not being clouded by the negative energies and give a real sense of balance throughout the treatment and hopefully help focus and re-energise the client.

We did an exercise to see if we could feel the energies that would be surrounding another person. I was surprised that my perception was very strong and I could feel  a difference in heat when I moved in to their space.

The evening was a wonderful experience and insight in to psychic awareness and I can't wait for the 2nd installment.

My Reiki 2 Attunement Day

The wait was over and my 2nd attunement day was here. It was again a truly wonderful experience and I learned a lot during the day about what is expected of a Reiki practitioner. We started the morning with a guided meditation from Debra Goldston who hosted the day, which helped set us up and energise ourselves for an intense day of learning and discovery.

We then discussed what a therapist would require, there is so much to think about and put in to practice before the far easier task of giving Reiki! Here s a list of things you need to take in to account:

Therapy couch, blankets, couch covers, pillows, candles, music, crystals, hand sanitiser, couch paper and tissue paper. I'm sure my fellow therapist's will put me straight on things I have forgotten.

At the end of the day its the experience for your client that is of upper most importance. The feeling and ambiance created can help your treatment start on the right foot and the less clinical the area is the more welcoming it can be perceived and the more likely your client will relax more and hopefully repeat book.

We then set up our designated area's before running through a Reiki session with a dummy client (Sorry Anna and Lizie!) This was a good learning curve because I struggled in certain area's and need to be more confident in the questions and answers i give the client prior to the treatment. My clients hair was an issue that I hadnt even spotted until I had started the treatment because of the style of hair I was pulling it when placing my hands which irritated poor Anna! Luckily for me I did manage to complete my treatment and she reported feeling much heat and relaxation during and after. The following day she reported that in the evening she felt full of life, so I'm pleased with my first treatment's outcome.

After lunch we recieved our Reiki Level 2 attunement. It was very similar to the first attunement only the experience was intensified by a great golden and silver light and was oozing with love and compassion. It really was an intense heart warming experience. my hands where really hot with heat and I could feel a difference in the reiki intensity. It is very difficult to put in to words your feelings after an attunement and I don't think I have done it justice. Its safe to say its addictive!

We then disussed how to send distance healing. Which was an interesting area of Reiki. Anybody at any time can recieve Reiki, all that is required is your intention to do so and an open mind. I know it will be difficult for some people to comprehend that this can be done at distance but I have to say after trying it, I can safely say that it does work!

It was a great day crammed full with information and practical help. I look forward to starting my case studies and qualify properly.
